Rex Women's Center
The day is coming and it will be here before you know it… The "big day" when your bundle of joy arrives. Rex Women's Center is honored to be part of your family's birth day celebration.

At Rex, we know that choosing a hospital to deliver your baby is an important decision for you and your family. Rex Women's Center is a wonderful place for your family to begin - and grow up.
Each year, Rex Women's Center delivers more babies than any other hospital in the Triangle. A survey conducted by Scarborough Research Corporation Plus found that women in Wake County prefer Rex obstetrics and maternity services two to one. It's no secret that new and expectant moms and dads in our community trust Rex. And here's why:
Our goals at Rex Women's Center are centered around our new moms, new dads and new babies. We're proud to offer a Free Pregnancy Newsletter that is delivered directly to your desktop each week with content that is customized to your stage of pregnancy and includes birth class information and other important updates.
We strive to offer you and your family a comforting birth environment that is home-like, private and safe. Rex Women's Center has neonatology services available on-site 24 hours a day. And, anesthesiologists are available on-site 24 hours a day for epidurals, so there's no waiting for pain relief. For any extra-special care your new little one may need, the Rex Special Care Nursery is specially equipped to care for newborns who need close monitoring or are critically ill. A new Special Care Nursery Resource Room is available to parents of Special Care Nursery babies. And while at Rex, each first-time breastfeeding mom will receive a visit from a lactation consultant prior to going home from Rex Lactation Services.
We're proud to be a family-centered care hospital with specially trained staff who are flexible in meeting your family's personal wishes. Each new family may decide how long the new baby will stay in mom's room and when they return to the nursery. Twenty-four hour rooming-in is available for parents who choose that option.
Rex Women's Center's 40 private rooms have been refurbished and tout amenities such as a convertible sleep chair for your partner, a rocking chair, a private bath with shower, television and VCR and private telephone.
As you prepare for your new arrival, if you have any questions about your birth experience or other issues such as breastfeeding, baby care or being a new parent, just ask. Rex Women's Center nurses and staff are well educated and well trained in caring for newborns - and new parents. We are happy to help you with your new arrival in any way we can.
Speaking of help, sometimes a class or two is just what new mom and new dad might need to prepare for the birth of a new little one. Rex Women's Center offers a myriad of classes on a variety of topics including breastfeeding, exercise and preparing for childbirth. Click here to see a full-listing of classes for Rex Women's Center.
Rex Women's Center also cares about you and your baby's safety. Car seat safety is especially important for newborns. Rex Women's Center has certified, trained safety technicians to evaluate your child's car seat and to teach new parents how to correctly install a car seat. If you'd like a free consultation, just tell your nurse prior to discharge from the Women's Center. Click here to view some frequently asked questions about car seat safety. And, in case you haven't already bought a car seat, seats are available for purchase through the Rex Lactation Station located on the first floor of the Women's Center from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
After you and your newborn leave the hospital, know that Rex Healthcare can care for your child as they grow up. Rex Healthcare's Pediatric Services offer the specialized healthcare services your son or daughter may need when they're under the weather. Our comfortable, kid-friendly environment helps put both kids and parents at ease.
At Rex Healthcare, we believe that all babies are special deliveries and we're ready to provide you and your family "Healthcare for Life."
